ANDREW Willis from the Bracknell and Wokingham Swimming Club will be hoping for an Olympic medal in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
The 25-year-old, who was born in Yateley, competes in the final of the men's 200m breaststroke at just after 2am on Thursday.
Willis finished third in his heat with a time of 2min 08.83sec but then clocked 2.07:73 to win his semi-final.
He is the second fastest of the eight finalists behind Japan's Ippei Watanabe with 2.07:22, an Olympic record.
Reading rower Sam Townsend, along with Jack Beaumont, Peter Lambert, both from Maidenhead, and Angus Groom will be going for glory in the men's quad final at 2.12pm on Thursday.
The final should have been on Wednesday, but for the second time this week the whole day's rowing programme was called off due to the high winds in Rio.
The GB crew will be in lane six.
