An eagle-eyed local has spotted that one road in Maidenhead resembles a famous F1 race track.

The iconic hairpin in Monaco is a centrepiece of the Grand Prix circuit.

However, an almost identical turn can be found in Maidenhead according to Ian Payne.

This finding was made public when Ian responded to a video of a Citroen Ami failing to make the hairpin in Monaco.

With a comparison photo of the two hairpins, Ian suggested the turn comprising Craufurd Rise, Norfolk Road and Cordwallis Road in the town is a near identical match.

Twitter users were quick to jump on the post.

One commenter said "that's brilliant" and another added, "how have I lived here my whole life and never noticed this".

Unfortunately, unlike Monaco's hairpin, the Maidenhead version has width restrictions slowing people down on the corner.
