FIRE crews are warning Berkshire residents be wildfire aware as we are set for another heatwave.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is asking locals to dispose of their rubbish responsibly or take it home with them.

This includes glass and other reflective items, which they said are likely to start fires.

The fire service has also included some tips on its website on how to prevent wildfires.

This includes:

- Extinguish cigarettes properly and don’t throw cigarette ends on the ground

- Talk to young people about the dangers of lighting fires

- Do not leave bottles or glass in woodland – sunlight shining through glass can start fires (take them home and recycle them)

- Do not leave barbecues unattended and only light them in designated areas
