STOKE Green have jumped to the top in Division One of the Thames Valley League after a four-wicket win at home to Falkland on Saturday, writes Rob Stevens.

The Green

have won their last four league matches and are unbeaten since the defeat at North Maidenhead back in June, and this most recent success gives them a three point lead over the chasing pack.

Falkland won the coin toss and elected to bat first, reaching 157-7 in 52 overs. Number three Charlie Dale was the leading runs scorer with 41 from 98 balls.

The wickets were shared amongst the Stoke bowlers with the best of the attack being Gagan Singh with figures of 3-36 from 12 overs.

The home side reached 162-6 from 35.2 overs in response for a win that moves them up three positions to top spot in the table. Number three Muhammad Nadeem top-scored with 62 runs from 57 balls.

Jimmy Shaw was the pick of the Falkland bowlers with his figures of 3-36 from 10 overs.

Stoke Green remain at home for the visit of Slough 2s this Saturday (1pm start).

North Maidenhead moved up two spots to third place in the table despite a losing draw against rivals Boyne Hill, who slip to fifth position but still only 23 points behind the league leaders.

Boyne Hill won the toss and batted first at Summerleaze, reaching 264-7 in 52 overs. Number four Sajid Ali was the leading runs scorer with 68 from 85 balls, whilst captain and number three Ollie Clayson made 62.

Mirban Saleem was the best of the

Maidenhead

bowling attack with his figures of 3-61 from 15 overs.

The home team reached 260-8 from 48 overs in response for a share of the points. Number three Usman Ilyas top-scored with 91 runs from 111 balls while captain and number five Imran Butt made 89.

Chris Shave led the Boyne Hill bowling attack with his figures of 4-56 from 14 overs.

North Maidenhead make the trip to Cove while Boyne Hill return home for the visit of Gerrards Cross this Saturday.

Slough 2s moved up one place to sixth position in the league table despite a seven-run defeat against bottom side Hayes at Upton Court Park.

Slough won the toss and put Hayes into bat first, with the visitors making 195 runs all out in 52 overs. Number four Prabhjot Singh was the leading runs scorer with 59.

Vishal Tiwari was the pick of the Slough bowling attack with his figures of 4-38 from 10 overs, followed by Nadeem Syed with 4-60 from 18 overs.

The home side managed 188 runs all out from 47 overs in response to suffer a fifth loss in 14 league matches this season. Opening batsman Yaqoot Rafiq top-scored with 41 runs.

Harman Momi was the destroyer-in-chief for Hayes with his figures of 7-59 from 18 overs.
