NORTH Maidenhead are the new leaders in Division One of the Thames Valley League after a 43-run win at rivals Slough on Saturday.

Maidenhead

won the coin toss and elected to bat first at Upton Court Park, the visitors reaching 227 runs all out from 52 overs.

Opening batsman Fahim Qureshi was the leading runs scorer with 92 from 101 balls, including 13 boundaries. It is his sixth half-century of the season and takes his average to an impressive 115.17.

Qureshi and Shafiq Khan (15) made 53 for the first wicket, before Qureshi and Usman Ilyas (18) put on a second-wicket stand of 62 runs.

Sulaiman Akhtar was the chief destroyer for

Slough

with his figures of 5-35 from 10 overs, which included the wicket of Qureshi.

Slough were bowled out for 184 runs from 42 overs in response to suffer a defeat which sees them drop one place to eighth in the league table.

Opening batsman Feroz Baig top-scored with 57 runs, his first half-century of the summer, whilst Naveed Akhtar (24) and Adam Ali (35) put on 58 for the sixth wicket.

The wickets were shared amongst the North Maidenhead bowlers but Raheel Zaman returned the best figures of 3-32 from six overs. Sahaan John claimed 3-39 from 14 overs and Ilyas 3-53 from 16.

North Maidenhead travel across Berkshire to Wargrave while Slough 2s remain at Upton Court Park for the visit of Gerrards Cross this Saturday (1pm starts).

Boyne Hill have been knocked off top spot in the league table following their draw at Cove last weekend.

Cove won the toss and chose to bat first, the home side reaching 181-9 from 52 overs.

Number six Nick Randall was the leading runs scorer with 34, whilst Chris Shave claimed 2-25 from 11 overs for the visitors.

Boyne Hill managed 168-9 from 48 overs in response thanks to Simon Carter (63) and Hamid Riaz (41).

Jordan Finney led the Cove bowling attack with his figures of 4-62 from 16 overs.

Boyne Hill travel to bottom-of-the-table and winless Hayes this Saturday.

Windsor remain in seventh position in Division 2a despite a 74-run defeat to Kew at Home Park.

Jamie Hall claimed 3-55 as Kew posted 221 runs all out from 52 overs. Kai Ziemkendorf made 34 in the response of 147 runs all out in 41.4 overs.
