The long awaited Windsor Neighbourhood Plan came a step closer to reality last week when the forum of local residents who have been working on it voted to approve the final draft.

This will now be submitted to the Royal Borough, which will conduct a full consultation with the public and interested organisations before the plan is sent to a Government inspector for examination.

Provided all these stages pass successfully a referendum will be conducted amongst Windsor residents and the plan could be adopted by the end of 2019.

It has been six years in the making by a team of local residents donating their time and expertise to produce a Plan for Windsor that will stand the test of time. The plan comprises local planning policies which reflect local residents' wishes and which developers will need to consider - giving the community a greater say in how the town develops over the next 10 to 15 years.
