A KIND-hearted family is doing everything they can to support their cousins treatment after he unexpectedly suffered a seizure on new years eve.

Jemma Jayne Pleasants from Bracknell is set to host a raffle on social media to draw names out of a hat to help raise money for Bens treatment.

She said: "He's got a healthy body of a 25-year-old athlete. He played football and he can never do that again according to the hospital.

"This has shocked us and really destroyed us. We are very upset."

Ben Wood is currently in a coma in hospital after suffering a degree of brain damage due to a lack of oxygen during his seizure.

On new years eve, he was sat at home with his girlfriend and had a couple of beers before going to bed.

Suddenly, Ben had a seizure which caused his brain to starve of oxygen.

Doctors have no explanation as to what caused the seizure until he regains consciousness.

The crowdfunding page set up by his auntie Joanne has so far raised, £1,685 out of its 10k target and the money will help towards Bens rehabilitation.

Joanne Cowan, Bens auntie said: "Family and friends are continuing to go to see him and speak to him, play music in his ears and tell him all of the latest football news.

"We wanted to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to you all for your good wishes and for donations to help Ben."
