Greater Manchester Police have released a shocking video showing the moment a man transporting £2.4m worth of cocaine from Slough to Manchester was apprehended on the M6 motorway.

Pub landlord Sam O’Neill was transporting the drugs from Slough in the Citroen Berlingo he was driving was stopped by officers near Stoke-on-Trent in March 2018.

On Thursday, January 17, five men and a woman were sentenced to a combined total of almost 100 years following an investigation into a multi-million-pound drug ring primarily based in Manchester.

Mr O’Neill pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine and heroin, conspiracy to produce amphetamine and possession of a firearm and ammunition and was sentenced to 19 years and six months in prison.

Detective Inspector Lee Griffin, of GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group, said: “During this operation we monitored the group closely as they conducted their illicit activities across the country, enabling us to gather evidence through surveillance and unravel the conspiracy.

“I hope this sentencing sends a clear message that we will relentlessly pursue those persons who supply harmful drugs and we will go to great lengths to bring them to justice.”
