A PROJECT designed to improve trauma services has been backed by Matt Rodda.
The MP for Reading East attended an event to mark the launch of the Self-Healing Trauma-Informed Communities (STIC) project.
The scheme, co-ordinated by Reading Wave Trust, is supported by police, mental health services and local faith groups.
It is a community-based initiative, which will strengthen services and spread awareness about the adverse experience of trauma, particularly on children.
Mr Rodda said: “Adverse childhood experiences can have a lasting and devastating effect on people’s lives.
"I was pleased to attend this event to offer my support to this local group who are coming together to raise awareness and improve local services for vulnerable people in our area.”
The politician met with Linda Dobraszczyk, the event organiser, as well as volunteer at the launch event.
