The New Egham Singers and Windsor Soundswell Choir are teaming up to perform together in aid of the charity TALK Surrey.

It happens at ACS Egham International School's Performing Arts Centre in London Road, Egham on Saturday, July 7.

TALK Surrey’s aim is to support stroke victims suffering difficulty with speech, understanding, reading or writing. This can leave sufferers feeling frustrated, depressed and isolated. The charity provides weekly groups which allow sufferers to practise all aspects of communication in a friendly, supportive environment to help rebuild confidence and self-esteem. Home visits can be arranged for those who are unable to attend a group. TALKSurrey celebrates its 20th birthday in 2018.

The format of the concert will see concertgoers encouraged to bring a picnic in the beautiful grounds of the school during an interval in the performance.

Both choirs are under the baton of Musical Director Dr Guy Bunce and are composed of members of different backgrounds, ages and musical abilities. Each of the New Egham Singers Concerts is for the benefit of a different local charity and this is the first time, Windsor Soundswell Choir is taking part.

Dr Guy Bunce said: “Our summer concert is always a highlight in our calendar, but this year it will be even more special as it brings together two choirs. We’re all enjoying the process of learning new music and are looking forward to singing with new friends to as large an audience as possible, in order to raiseas much as we can for our nominated charity.”

The concert will be starting at 6.15pm. The programme will include a wide range of musical styles including pop, folk, show tunes and classical. The concert will raise funds for TALK Surrey. Tickets cost £10 (£5 for children 15 and under). To reserve tickets email or contact the box office on 07858 617343.
