THE READING Symphony Orchestra (RSO) was joined by its sister orchestra from Dusseldorf, Germany, for a spectacular performance at Reading Concert Hall.
The RSO and guests from the Orchester der Landesregierung Dusseldorf (ODL) combined to perform Mahler's massive Fifth Symphony on June 19.
The concert was not the first time the two orchestras had combined, and was built on a collaboration over more than a decade.
The concert was attended by the Mayor of Reading, Gul Khan, and the chairman of the Reading Dusseldorf Association.
It was opened by 2004s Young Musician's competition winner, violinist Eloisa-Fleur Thom, who played a beautiful version of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto.
Stefan Hofkes, the conductor, said: "It was a very big success. The audience was great, the orchestra played very well. It was fantastic."
