Inside Job at Theatre Royal Windsor

Theatre review by Ruth Moulden

THERE are twists and turns aplenty in the three actor play Inside Job.

Stephen McGann, who appeared in the soap Emmerdale, Chris Ellison, best known for his role as D.I Frank Burnside in The Bill and Michelle Morris, an experienced theatre actress, play the parts of British ex-pats living in Spain.

With the tagline 'Three killers. Three motives. Only one possible outcome', the audience know they are in for an exciting show and it doesn't disappoint.

A murder plot soon becomes a lot more complicated and involves a bit of the Spanish sun, diamonds and plenty of double crossing.

With only three actors involved, the audience's attention is captivated and though there is only one set which never changes, it does not become tedious. Each scene change brings a new element of surprise and intrigue and you never truly know what is going to come next.

Loud bangs make the audience jump on a few occasions but it all adds to the atmosphere.

There is a great twist at the end which I had no inkling of at all. It is definitely a performance for anyone who enjoys a good murder mystery and it is good to see something like that on the stage rather than on TV.

The show by Brian Clemens, directed by Giles Watling, is on every night until Saturday at 8pm, with a Thursday matinee at 2.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 4.45pm.
