BRACKNELL & Wokingham Swimming Club are rounding off another successful season by sending a bumper squad to this week's National Championships.

The Bracknell Leisure Centre-based club will be represented by no fewer than 22 swimmers at the National Age Group and the National Youth Championships.

The promising squad will compete across 44 individual events and five relays at the Ponds Forge Sports Centre, which boasts an impressive Olympic-sized 50 metre pool.

The club's chief coach Nigel Willis is thrilled with the club's young stars. He said: "This is a great achievement to have this number of swimmers qualify for these championships and compete against the nation's top swimmers.

"We had 14 swimmers go last year and as far as I know this is the most we have ever sent."

The National Age Group champs started on Wednesday and runs until Sunday. The Youth Championships start on Monday.
