BRACKNELL RFC head coach Ken Hopkins revealed his side are having to improvise in any way they can to stay fit during the winter cold snap.
The Lily Hill Park side have had their last three National Three London games postponed because of the weather. And they have also been finding it increasingly difficult to train with their pitch frozen solid.
However, this week Hopkins' side found a novel way to beat the bad weather.
He said: "We trained indoors at the club in the main hall. We cleared the place out and had a good fitness session.
"It is a case of improvising however we can because we have only managed to have a couple of sessions since the end of December.
"It was good to get everyone together. Kevin McKenzie was there and we are delighted to have him back and Oli Jones was there too, which is great.
"Everyone is getting a bit frustrated at the moment, but numbers-wise we are looking good and can't wait to get back on the pitch.
"But in some ways it has been a good break because everyone has been able to recharge their batteries."
Saturday's game at home to Bishop's Storford is already in serious doubt, but Hopkins admits his side will plan as if it is going ahead.
He said: "You would have to say the chances of it being on appear to be nil. But what we can't afford to do is get caught napping, so we will prepare as if it is going ahead."
* BERKS Bucks & Oxon Premier Division leaders Broadmoor will be out for revenge on Saturday if their league trip to Swindon survives the cold weather.
Swindon College Old Boys inflicted one of the Crowthorne based side's two defeats when the rivals clashed earlier in the seasons. And Moor will no doubt be looking to get their own back for that 27-15 reverse.
College had been among the pace-setters in the Premier Division until losses against Drifters and Oxford before Christmas saw them slip four points behind Staff.
Weather permitting, the kick-off is at 2pm.
