WOKINGHAM and Emmbrook A saw out the Reading Football League Premier Division season in style with a 5-0 rout of Park United on Saturday to finish third in the table.

It was a comfortable win for Wokingham who went a goal up after half an hour when man-of-the-match Andrew Cotton jinxed past four players to fire in a 25-yard screamer for what manager John Davies described as 'goal of the season'. Michael Davies followed that up with a header after 60 minutes after which the floodgates opened for Wokingham.

Dominic McKenzie was put through one-on-one with the keeper and calmy slotted home for the third before James Rusby and captain Michael Percival rounded it off with his first goal of the season from a free-kick.

Manager John Davies said: "We totally dominated the game. We were only one nil up at half-time but in the second half we ran riot. It was a good win because they are quite a decent side. It was a great finish to the league programme."

*Wokingham & Emmbrook 'A' are looking to retain the Berkshire Senior Cup tomorrow (Friday) night with a win over the Senior Division runners up Woodcote Stoke Row.

The final is being played at the Madejski Stadium, KO 7.30pm.

The Satsumas have already comprehensively beaten two senior division sides en-route to the final including a 5-1 drubbing of Mortimer and a 4-1 win over Frilsham and Yattendon.

Looking ahead to the cup final boss John Davies said: "We will give them a good game. We've already knocked out two senior sides so I don't see why we can't do it again."
