Drew Cameron breaks a tackle on his way to the endzone.
THE Berkshire Renegades returned home from Gloucester with a sense of iinjustice as they were beaten 41-26 by the Banshees.
Berkshire had battled hard and the scoreline was harsh on them. The visitors made a bright start but after 61 yards gained in 16 plays, had a 31 yard field goal attempt blocked.
The Banshees opened the scoring on the ensuing drive but things were quickly levelled up after Jason Brown got good yardage before Paul Waddington connected with rookie receiver Phil Giddings for a 42 yard touchdown pass.
Waddington then found Simon Pearce for a nine yard scoring pass and Neal Kent's point-after kick was good for a 13-6 lead.
However, Berkshire then found themselves trailing 19-13 but made a positive start to the second half with Drew Cameron forcing his way over to make it 19-19.
The Renegades then took the lead at the start of the fourth quarter in stunning style when Giddings caught a short pass from Waddington, before turning on the speed and racing down the sideline for a 78-yard score. Kent's point-after kick was good, and it was 19-26 to the visitors.
The lead did not last long and Berkshire's aggressive offensive style saw the turnover curse strike again, proving far more costly than before as the game finished41-26 to the Banshees.
