LONDON Irish have unveiled their limited edition jersey for the 2017 St Patrick’s Party which will be worn when Cornish Pirates visit the Madejski Stadium on Saturday, March 18.

The shirt is inspired by nine-year-old Shaun Egan, who is this year’s winner of the St Patrick’s Party design competition.

His original design incorporating the famous Celtic Knot with the London Irish shamrock is a white pattern that runs up the front of the shirt, over the shoulder and down the back.

The jersey is only available while stocks last and supporters will receive a free gift with every jersey pre-ordered, with the deadline February 17.

London Irish chief executive Bob Casey said: “Every year there is always a real sense of excitement surrounding the launch of our St Patrick’s Party jersey and this year has been no different.

“Our young designer Shaun Egan has inspired the design of this year’s jersey, a design which I’m sure our supporters will like.

“The St Patrick’s Party promises to be a fantastic event as we all come together to enjoy the craic when Cornish Pirates visit the Madejski Stadium.

“The iconic clash has created some memorable moments down the years and we’re expecting an electric atmosphere throughout the day.”

Jerseys can be bought from the London Irish website, with the adult replica jersey coming in sizes ranging from S to 4XL priced at £55. Junior replica shirts, sized from 10 years to 13 years, cost £45.

The traditional St Patrick's Party fixture will include all-day entertainment, including the final round of the 2017 RBS 6 Nations live on big screens around the stadium.

There will be live music from the Bible Code Sundays and Paul Bowen plus the famous Irish Dancers, while Guinness will also be on tap as you celebrate the day with the black stuff.

For the kids, Digger's Pound will be open throughout the day with a bouncy castle, free face painting and many more activities. Captain Benbow, Cornish Pirates’ mascot will also be making an appearance as he goes head-to-head with Digger in the Pump Technology ‘Poo Ball Challenge.’ There will also be competitions and giveaways throughout the day plus much more.

There is a special group rate for bookings of 15 people or more, while tickets cost from just £18 and £3 for juniors.
