Wokingham & Emmbrook FC's preparations for their maiden season in the Hellenic Premier Division have been hit by the departure of star striker Richard Bland.
Last season's top-scorer has signed for Bobby Wilkinson's big-spending Hungerford Town, who are expected to challenge for promotion in Southern League Division One (S&W) this season.
He sat out Saturday's draw with Chalfont St Peter, before signing for the Crusaders on Sunday evening.
Bland said: "This was too much of an opportunity to miss, and gives me a chance to prove myself at a higher level.
"It was a hard decision to make, as I've really enjoyed my time here and have some great memories.
"The lads and spectators have been great to me today and I wish them all the best for future."
Despite Bland's departure, boss Wayne Wanklyn was pleased with his side's display in Saturday's draw against their Spartan South Midlands Premier Division opponents at Cantley Park.
Michael Davies rescued a draw for the Satsumas three minutes from time afterChalfont went ahead in the first half.
Wanklyn said: "We looked sharp and I felt we finished the stronger."
*BINFIELD continued their preparations for the Hellenic Premier Division season with a fine 4-3 win over Southern League side Slough Town.
New signing Carl Davies scored twice for the Moles, including once from the spot, while former Rebel James Suarez and Ian Davies were also on target for Mark Tallentire's side.
*EVERSLEY continued their unbeaten pre-season campaign with a comfortable 3-1 win against Wessex League's Fleet Spurs.
The Boars dominated from start to finish but Fleet took the lead on 14 minutes through former Bracknell legend Ben Edwards.
Craig Smith equalised minutes later before a Darren Sked brace sealed the win in the last quarter of the game.
The Boars take on Southern League side Thatcham Town on Saturday in their final pre-season match.
*BINFIELD's Bobby Ellis was highly commended by the Berks & Bucks FA in last season's Groundsman of the Year awards.
The Moles finished third overall in the award won by Holmer Green.
