Boars manager James Griffin

EVERSLEY's pre-season continued on a positive note after a 2-2 draw against Combined Counties Premier side Camberley Town.

Camberley's new look side boasted several of last season's Badshot Lea side as new coach Darren Barnard looks to shape his side for the new season.

James Griffin's Eversley side has a very youthful look about it this season with half of the starting eleven under 21 years of age.

Camberley dominated the early exchanges starting with far more purpose and confidence and raced into a 2-0 lead within 15 minutes.

Mike Smith was hauled down by Gary Rogers and Smith himself calmly dispatched the penalty. Minutes later Matt Griffiths made it two as he danced through the Eversley defence and found the corner from close range.

A shell-shocked Eversley slowly regained their stride and a foothold in the game. The half's two remaining chances fell to the Boars but Camberley keeper Foster proved his worth bringing two saves from Matt Stamp and Richard Evans.

The second half belonged to Eversley who edged possession and retained the ball better than their senior opponents. Chances came and went with Stamp firing wide with the goal gaping after rounding the keeper and then seeing his 12-yard placed shot tipped wide.

Stamp finally found the net on 65 minutes snapping up a failed clearance from a Stuart Coates cross. It was former Ash full back Coates who supplied the ammunition once again as former Reading apprentice Jordan Brown headed home to equalise for Eversley in the dying moments.
