Tristan Lewis, new assistant manager at Eversley

EVERSLEY Football Club have linked up with the John Madejski Academy in Reading to give promising youngsters the chance to play at senior club level next season.

The Boars, who finished eighth in Combined Counties Division One last season, will take on JMA scholars and create an environment for them to succeed at a decent level of men's football.

Eversley manager James Griffin explains: "We will take young players who have been released by clubs to offer them a vehicle back into professional football.

"It also allows us access to up and coming 18 and 19-year-olds who are looking to get back into professional or semi professional football."

He added: "The quality of some of the players will definitely enhance our team."

Eversley will also benefit from using the Academy's facilities in Hartland Road including state-of-the-art 3G pitches, swimming pool and a gym and Griffin commented: "It's a fantastic boost as far as the facilities that are available to us."

JMA's Director of Football Tristan Lewis, who is currently doing his A licence, will become Griffin's new assistant manager.
