Bracknell boss David Tuttle came out of retirement to play for the Robins on Saturday, but could not prevent his side conceding 13 goals in their two games this week.
BRACKNELL Town's Southern League Division One (South & West) fate was all but sealed on Tuesday as they slumped to a humiliating 7-0 home defeat at the hands of AFC Hayes.
If the Robins were to have any chance of rescuing their miserable season they needed to get a result from the visit of second from bottom Hayes.
But once again David Tuttle's side subsided and were 5-0 down at the break before two late goals completed a far from magnificent seven.
Danilson Vicente opened the scoring for the visitors 16 minutes in and further goals from Craig Tomkins, Wesley Beckles and Jake Lovell (2) meant the game was over by the break.
The visitors eased off in the second half, until Lovell complete his hat-trick with four minutes to play and a second from Vicente completed the rout in the final minute.
The defeat leaves the Robins 14 points adrift of Hayes at the foot of the table, and a theoretical 21 points from safety as they face up to almost certain relegation.
It completed another miserable week for Tuttle, as even the manager's playing debut had failed to prevent Bracknell slumping to a 6-0 defeat at the hands of Gosport Borough on Saturday.
Five second half goals saw the Robins' goals conceded tally crash through the 100 barrier - and even the influence of formerly retired Spurs, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United centre-back Tuttle could not effect a turnaround in fortunes for the league's basement boys.
Bracknell were in touch until the early stages of the second half, but the sending-off of Trannell Richardson for a second bookable offence stripped them of belief and they subsided to another hammering.
On paper, last weekend's clash seemed to present an opportunity for Bracknell to end their shocking run of 16 straight league defeats, with Boro on a run of five straight losses themselves.
But 90 minutes later the gulf between the two sides was evident as Boro' unsurprisingly became the side to end their bad trot.
The opening quarter of an hour was a poor spectacle as passes went astray and Gosport constantly got themselves caught offside in their eagerness to make the breakthrough.
But the opener did duly arrive 15 minutes in, Boro skipper Craig Davis whipping the ball past Dan Smith from just inside the penalty area.
The home side went on to dominate the remainder of the first half, but could not add the second, and the Robins seemed to have something to build on as they went into the interval just a single goal behind.
But after the break, the hosts stepped up their game and the Robins struggled to live with their opponents' slicker passing and movement.
The second arrived within a minute of the restart when Justin Bennett got his reward after three near misses in the first half when he slid the ball between Smith's legs.
Gosport then hit the post three times in the next 10 minutes before a rash challenge by already the booked Richardson saw him take an early bath - and the floodgates opened.
Michael Turvey headed Boro 3-0 ahead after Town's statuesque defence had failed to deal with a cross and Bennett added a fourth minutes later with a simple tap-in.
Substitute Nathan Kirby added Boro's fifth minutes after entering the action, heading the ball into the bottom corner before finishing the scoring with two minutes left by netting from close range despite Smith's despairing dive.
