McClurg was delighted to see his side make it two wins on the bounce on Saturday and felt the Moles were good value for their victory over Fairford Town.
A goal in each half from Scotty Williams and Tim Walsh gave the Moles a 2-1 victory at Cinder Lane.
But McClurg felt the margin of victory would have been greater had it not been for an inspired display from Jamie Morse in the Fairford goal.
The Moles boss said: "We played very well in the first half and created a lot of chances. They came into the game in the second half but I thought we were good value for the win.
"Their keeper pulled off some blinding saves in the first half and if it wasn't for him we would have won by much more."
Binfield gave new signing Ian Davies his first start up front along side Callum Whitty and his movement prove the difference between the sides in the first half.
He set up Williams for the opening goal on 10 minutes. And had it not been for Morse's heroics, the Moles would have added to their advantage.
Fairford fought their way back into the contest in the second half and after 55 minutes Binfield were made to rue their missed opportunities when James Skinner brought the home side level.
Morse continued to keep Binfield at bay, but with three minutes to go Walsh finished smartly to finally beat him for a second time and claim all three points for the visitors.
McClurg was pleased with Davies' debut up front and believes the former Winchester City player will add to his side's striking options.
He said: "Ian Davies did well for us. We only signed him last Thursday night and threw him straight in. He is a friend of Ryan Millwards who was looking for a club and he looks to be a quality player.
"We have been struggling a bit for strikers recently with Johnny Dyer being injured, so it is good to have another one in the squad."
Next up for Binfield in the league is a home game against fifth placed Shortwood United on Saturday. The two sides have not met yet this season, but McClurg is expecting a tough test at Stubbs Lane.
He said: "We've not played them before, but we hear they are a good team, who like to play football.
"We are at home so the onus is on us and we will play our game the usual way and hopefully get a result."
"It is good to get a few wins under our belts in the last two games and hopefully we can go on now to get a few more."
Binfield: Adams, Callaway, Millward, Fenton, Williams, Suarez, Withers, Walsh, Whitty, Davies. Subs: Gumbs, Tallentire, Nebbett.
* STEVE McClurg has dismissed speculation on an internet forum that midfielder Danny Wing has left the club.
He said: "He is definitely still at the club, I can promise you that. He played for the reserves on Saturday and is still a member of our squad."
* BINFIELD have been drawn against Hellenic Premier Division leaders Reading Town in the semi-final of the Floodlit Cup.
The tie will be played over two legs, but the dates have not yet been finalised.
Steve McClurg said: "It is a semi-final so we will be up for it.
"They are they best team in the league, so what can I saw. It will be tough."
