FOOTBALL fans braved the cold to battle it out on the pitch at a charity football match held in memory of a well-known businessman.

Family and friends of Ian Wooldridge, a former sponsor of Windlesham United who died in a helicopter crash earlier this year, joined other spectators at the match on Monday.

Six teams played for the Ian Wooldridge Memorial Trophy and the day, which was held at Windlesham United's ground in Updown Hill, Windlesham, raised more than £1,000 for the Children With Special Needs Foundation.

Ian's son, Charlie Wooldridge, 22, said: "My dad would have loved it." For more pictures of the special day pick up The Villager.
