TWO MONTHS on from announcing his presence on the world stage with a tremendous fifth place finish in the Dubai Desert Classic, Wentworth's Ross Fisher continued his rise at the Volvo China Open last weekend.
After a disappointing opening round of six-over-par 77 in China, Fisher produced an improved second round of 73 as he missed out on the cut.
Since his emergence in Dubai, which saw him play with world number one Tiger Woods on the final round, Fisher has struggled to re-capture that form over a whole tournament. But some of his individual rounds have proven his undoubted talent.
Fisher has only made one cut in four tournaments since returning from Dubai, but the nature of that display bodes well for the future.
After opening with a two-over-par 74 at the Clarden Leu Singapore Masters last month, the Wentworth golfer produced an inspired six-under-par round of 66 to make the cut before eventually finishing one-under par.
