Bracknell Bees head coach Gareth Cox has added promising utility player Richard Facey to his squad in time for the start of the Premier Ice Hockey League season.
The 21 year-old is returning to the UK following three seasons playing for the Banff Academy Bears, in Canada’s Heritage Junior Hockey League.
The six-foot Portsmouth-born player has previous EPIHL experience in 2005/06 & 2006/07 with the Wightlink Raiders.
In Canada he picked up an impressive 86 points in 110 games (33 goals and 56 assists) along with 311 penalty minutes.
Cox is pleased to have him on board. He said: “Richard is equally comfortable at playing either forward or defenceman. He brings more depth, size and hunger to our squad and I have no doubt that he will fit straight in and become a fans’ favourite.
“I think he will surprise quite a few people this year”.
