Ashley Calvert, left, signs for a second straight season

YOUNG talent has been added to the Bracknell Bees forward line in addition to the star Czech duo of last week.

Nineteen-year old, Sheffield-born, Ashley Calvert returns to the Bees for a second straight season along with Crag Tribe who steps up from the Bracknell Hornets.

They will team up with Czech mates Jaroslav Cesky and Michal Pinc.

Calvert followed former Telford and Bees head coach Claude Dumas to Bracknell in July 2009 from the Telford Tigers and quickly established himself as a fans favourite.

In 54 games last season he scored seven goals and had 12 assists and was selected as the Bees man of the match on an impressive eight occasions. Calvert, pictured, is a product of the junior development programme at Nottingham and has previously spent time with the Nottingham Panthers in the Elite League.

Tribe, 25, is also familiar figure at the Hive, having led the line for the last six years for the Bracknell Hornets, in the English National League. The six-foot two-inch, 195lb forward is equally comfortable playing at centre or on the wing. Last season, he scored 18 goals and had 34 assists in 29 league matches, before scoring two key goals in the Hornets' recent play-off final victory against the Wightlink Raiders.

Bees head coach Gareth Cox commented: "Ashley is a talented young forward, who is keen to develop his skills further. He is a big strong lad who skates well and plays the body. I'm sure that his points production will increase as we give him more responsibility.

"I have worked closely with Craig for a number of years and am convinced that he possesses the size and skill to have a positive impact in the EPIHL. He could easily have made the jump up previously and I know he is looking forward to the challenge."
