Bison hit Bees for seven on annual Teddy Toss fixture

The Bees managed to bring the game forward to accommodate the England game and allow the fans and players chance to be part of both. 

The Bees brought a good energy with them to the ice but with a few new names on the team the cohesion wasn’t quite there and the Bison took an early lead with Gael Lubwele scoring their first goal at 7:29.

Less than two minutes later George Norcliffe made it 0-2 at 9:53. The period passed with a few penalties and lots of tension, but at 15:22 Marcel Baldaz took the lead to three goals.

Bees fans were waiting with great anticipation as this was the annual Teddy Toss and they were desperate for the first goal so that they could air their bears for the Alexander Devine charity, sadly though the first period came to an end without a Bees goal so the bears were aired once the buzzer sounded the end of period one.

It was a sight to see as the ice filled with teddies and the volunteers worked hard to clear the ice so that the Zamboni could cut the ice for period two. 

Period two started fast but the Bees stood no chance of preventing Aiden Doughty scoring for the Bison in just 15 seconds.

Brendan Baird sat a 2 minute cross checking penalty and when the Bison returned to full strength goal number 5 was scored by Edgards Landsbergs at 26:37. Lots of penalties and conversations filled the rest of the second period but it remained 0-5. 

Into the third period and the Bison scored a powerplay goal at 43:50 scored by Aiden Doughty followed in very quick succession by goal number seven, which was scored by Ollie Hemings-Maher. 

Finally at 51:14 Will Stead found his way to the back of the net passed Jordan Lawday to give the Bees their one and only goal of the night.

Next week the Bees travel to Bristol to take on the Pitbulls on Saturday facing off at 7pm and on Sunday they welcome the Hull Seahawks to the Slough Ice arena facing off at 5pm.
