FOODIES and music fans are looking forward to another year of tasty treats and toe-tapping tunes at a weekend of festivals.

Wokingham Food and Drink Festival plus Wokingham Music Festival will be held at Elms Field from Friday, August 27 to Sunday, August 29.

Cookery demonstrations from expert chefs, live music performances, wine and ale-tasting and the chance to try dozens of delicious nibbles will be among the attractions on offer at the fourth annual celebration of local produce. Kate Lole, of Wokingham Festival Ltd, which is organising the event, said: "We have a fabulous selection of local specialist producers and suppliers ready to showcase their produce alongside those who have travelled from around the country to be with us.

"Nestled among the many well-known brands you will find a few new and up-and-coming stars ready to make your acquaintance."

The festivities will kick off from 6pm-10.20pm on Friday, August 27, with performances from acts including Graham Nash and The Elton Experience tribute to Elton John, who will wow the crowds on the TradeMark Live Music Stage. Food, drink and music will be available the next day from 9am-6pm, before more music until 10.30pm.

The event will close on Sunday, August 29 with more refreshments and performances from 10am-5pm.

Local suppliers who will be exhibiting their produce include Ascot Ales, The Fabulous Vodka Company, the Mortimer Chocolate Company, Beehive Treats and many more.
