THREE people made a lucky escape when a crash between a car and a moped.

The young female rider of the moped was taken to hospital, but was not badly injured when her bike collided with a Ford Fiesta in Stroude Road, Egham today (Tuesday) at 11.10am.

The people in the car, a mother and teenage daughter, were shaken in the incident but unharmed. The road was closed for about 45 minutes.

Firefighter Gary Saunders from the crew at Egham Fire Station, which was on the scene for just over an hour, said: "They were all very lucky to get away with no serious injuries.

"It's a bit of a bad area for accidents and conditions were bad - it was damp and the road was slippery."
