BUDDING actors took youngsters on a magical adventure as they staged their own pantomime.

Students at Strodes College, in Egham, performed Prince Bernhard's Quest For The Magic Wand for pupils at Manorcroft School as part of their performing arts BTech.

The show, on Friday, January 6, was written and directed by the students at the High Street college and included all the ingredients for a perfect panto.

Performing arts teacher Emma Kadri-Langford said: "Through group discussions the students came up with the storyline and each person scripted and directed a scene.

"We really wanted to get the audience involved and it included themes such as conflicts and friendship and learning the value of never trusting a book by its cover!"

The adventure followed Prince Bernhard as he overcame the wicked witch in Runnyithmeadover, meeting colourful characters on his journey.

Philippa Leftley, deputy head of Manorcroft School, said: "The children were enthralled from beginning to end."
