MUSIC fans enjoyed a club's first classical concert of the year.

The event on Sunday, hosted by the Egham and District Music Club, attracted about 50 people to the United Church in the town to hear David Darby, Susan Early and Andrew Adams perform.

They played Haydn's Gypsy Rondo, Mendelsohn's Trio in D minor and Beethoven's Arch Duke Trio.

Concert secretary Valerie Ward said: "It was a popular but demanding programme and all the works were played with great polish.

"The club is about having good-quality music recitals locally."

The next performance will be on Sunday, February 19, at 3pm at the High Street church when pianist Helen Reid, a former finalist at the BBC Young Musician Of The Year Awards, will play. Visit www.edmc.org.uk
