THREE charities have benefited from the hard work of a fundraising organisation.

The Ascot Charitable Trust has raised £50,000 which they presented to Paralympics GB, Alexander Devine Children's Cancer Trust (ADCCT) and the Children with Special Needs Foundation earlier this month. Nicky Pardo, chairwoman of trust's committee, said: "We are delighted that we have been able to support these amazing charities in such a significant way, especially considering the current economic climate."

The trust presented a cheque for £25,000 to Paralympics GB at Ascot Racecourse and also gave £12,500 each to the two children's charities.

Funds for the three charities were raised by the trust with a Caribbean-themed ball in May at Ascot Racecourse that included a steel band and Caribbean dancers.

Janet Brewer, Head of Fundraising for ADCCT added: "Nicky and her team all worked incredibly hard and we are delighted to have received such a fantastic contribution to our funds, as we work to build Berkshire's first children's hospice.

"We cannot thank the Ascot Charitable Trust enough for their much valued support."
