Wokingham actor Nicholas Hoult has displayed his artistic side by taking part in this year's National Doodle Day.

The star of 'Skins' and 'About A Boy' has doodled to raise money for two neurological charities, with the drawing being analysed by a handwriting expert.

Peter West, professional graphologist, concluded: "At the time this drawing was made he had a couple of real challenges to sort out.

"I don't think he has that many close friends but he will have a wide circle of acquaintances to whom he may be able to turn to when he feels the need."

The 20-year-old's doodle, based on the theme 'My Favourite', will be auctioned on eBay from today (Friday) with proceeds going to Epilepsy Action and The Neurofibromatosis Association.

The former Ranelagh School pupil, who lives in Sindlesham, was recently nominated for a BAFTA award in the 'Rising Star' category for his role in the film 'A Single Man', but missed out to Twilight star Kristen Stewart at the prestigious ceremony.

A Doodle Day competition is also being held, with an opportunity for doodlers to send in their work and win a brand new laptop.

National Doodle Day, now in its seventh year, has previously raised more than £185,000.

Dianne Flatt, fundraising manager at Epilepsy Action, said: "National Doodle Day is always a fantastic event and absolutely anyone can take part.

"This year's theme should be great fun to design, so pick up your pens and get doodling!"
