YOUNG people had fun while raising money for charity through a theatrical spectacular.
Around 100 members of the Scouting and Guiding movements in Bracknell and the surrounding area took to the stage for the annual South East Berkshire Gang Show last week.
Spokeswoman Sandra Sidey said: "This year's South East Berks Gang Show was another huge success.
"We were raising money for CLAPA, the Cleft Lip and Palate Association. Established in 1979, CLAPA is the only UK charity providing relief and support for all those born with, or affected by cleft lip and pallet. CLAPA provides support beyond the walls of the hospital and ensures that in partnership with the health specialists, all the needs of those with, and affected by, cleft lip and pallet are catered for.
"A total of £800 was raised by the show and a cheque was presented by Shirley Burns, the show's producer, to Sue Carroll, CLAPA's representative."
The highly-popular performances ran last week at the Wilde Theatre at South Hill Park arts centre and in addition to the performers, a further 100 people were involved backstage in putting it together.
There was another reason to celebrate during the successful week when Sandhurst scout Katherine Walpole was presented with her Queen's Scout Award - the highest award in scouting,
It was presented to Katherine, a pupil at Ranelagh School in Bracknell, by Berkshire County Commissioner Hamish Stout after the performance on Wednesday to recognise her voluntary work helping disabled young people and her role as a young leader at 1st Sandhurst Beavers.
She also successfully planned and carried out a four-day hike and in 2007 represented Sandhurst at the World Scout Jamboree in Essex to mark the movement's centenary year.
To recognise her achievements, the Queen has invited Katherine to attend the St George's Day Parade at Windsor Castle in April.
