THE Conservatives kept their hold on Owlsmoor after winning both the town and borough council seats in yesterday's by-election.
Tory Norman Bowers was elected to Bracknell Forest Borough Council with 508 votes, ahead of his nearest rival, Liberal Democrat candidate Mark Thompson with 238 votes.
And fellow Tory Philip Wallington won the Sandhurst Town Council seat with 453 votes, again pushing the Lib Dems into second after their candidate Mark Thompson gained 201.
Both seats had previously been held by Cllr Ray Simonds, who died in December aged 73 following a short illness.
The turnout for both elections was just 24%.
