PETER Andre set hearts on fire after his devoted fans queued in freezing temperatures from 5am to meet him.
Thousands of screaming girls packed into The Meadows in Sandhurst when the singer made an appearance at Tesco Extra to sign copies of his new album Unconditional: Love Songs.
Security guards were forced to deal with over-excited followers who climbed on shelves and friends' shoulders to get a glimpse of the pop superstar.
Friends Stephanie Milstead and Sandra Parsons from Guildford were first in line to meet their hero.
Ms Milstead said: "He is such a lovely man. He kept holding my hand and I was thinking 'Oh my God!'
"He asked if I'd got tickets to his tour and I told him they'd all sold out!"
Nearly 5,000 fans waved home made posters and banners in the air when the former I'm a Celebrity star made his grand entrance an hour later than expected.
Pete's popularity has continued to grow since his divorce from former glamour model Katie Price.
Steph Stocker, from Great Hollands, Bracknell, said there was an amazing atmosphere with everyone chanting.
The 18-year-old, who had her photo taken with the star, said: "It was an absolutely amazing experience but quite weird meeting him in real life.
"Everyone in the queue chatted to each other and made friends."
Hundreds of fans were kept waiting in the cold behind metal barriers but Laura Fyfield, who works in the store's cafe, was on-hand selling hot drinks.
She said: "It was absolutely crazy and I couldn't keep up with all the orders!
"I'm glad we were warned how busy it was going to be."
Judy Searle and her 11-year-old daughter Natalie from Wokingham were among those outside.
Natalie, who joined the queue after school finished, said: "I've been so excited to see Peter and I was counting down how many sleeps there were left.
"I'm going to ask him what his favourite song is but what I'm really hoping is he's going to give me a kiss on the cheek!"
Fans hoping to get their hands on a CD for Peter to sign were left disappointed when the 1,000 copies the store bought in sold out at 5pm.
Dave Harwood, duty manager of the supermarket, drafted in extra security, car park marshals and support from Thames Valley Police to ensure the signing went without a hitch.
He said: "Peter stayed until he had seen everybody waiting in the queue and he didn't leave until around 11.30pm.
"We were incredibly busy but it was a very successful event and well received by everyone who came along."
