SPORTY students are celebrating after winning a national championship.

Year 10 students from Sir William Perkins" School in Chertsey rowed to victory in the girls eights event at the National Schools Regatta in Nottingham.

The girls took on Monmouth School in the final and beat them by four seconds to win gold. The school also won gold at the National Junior Sculling Head in March.
