SPORTY youngsters braved the rain as they took part in a biathlon.

Hurst Lodge School in Ascot hosted the annual Interschools Biathlon on Saturday, in which six teams competed in two age categories.

Children in Years 3 and 4 tackled a 100m swim and an 800m run, with Years 5 and 6 pupils swimming 200m and running 1,200m.

Head of sport James Eagle said: 'The event was fantastic. Some of the girls flew around the course in just a few minutes with most completing it in an average of 10 minutes.'

Camberley"s Hawley Place School took home the top prize with Holme Grange School in Wokingham taking second and the hosts finishing in third place.
