A DYNAMIC duo of night club owners are tasting success after transforming a troubled night-spot into a safe, sophisticated and desirable venue.

When Tony Lopes and Hussain Manower bought their nightclub premises in Market Street, Bracknell, the venue"s reputation proceeded it having recently been home to Shikara"s, later Ole Tapas, which closed after having its licensed suspended.

But now Mr Lopes and Mr Manower have turned the club, which they have renamed Dezire, around kitting it out with the latest sound system, flat screen tvs and lights, and completely refurnishing it inside and out.

Mr Lopes said: 'We opened on December 19 so we have been open for five months now and we are very happy with how it"s going.

'At the beginning we were on rough ground but now it"s really picking up and we have the type of customers we want coming in.'

Dezire"s owners" first aim was to make the club as safe as possible and regulate a zero tolerance drugs policy along with a strict no-trainers dress code to boost the club"s appeal.

Mr Lopes said: 'Some people in Bracknell had the feeling that it would be the same place but bit by bit they have started to come in and they see it is a really nice place to be.

'It"s a very safe environment, we have eight bouncers and we are very restrictive on drugs.'

The team behind Dezire has also worked hard to cater to all club goers regardless of age.

On Friday, June 5, the club plays host to DJ Ironik who recently scored a number three single with Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Closer) his take on Elton John"s classic, but the day after there will be a reunion night for those who used to frequent the venue in the 1990s when it was known as Simpsons.

Mr Lopes said: 'We want to have nights where young people can come and enjoy themselves but we also want to have nights where people in their thirties can come and have a good time.

'People in Bracknell have always had to go to Windsor and Camberley for a night out but we want to show them they can have a really good time in their own town.'
