WET weather failed to put a damper on a school's Christmas fair.

Christ Church Infants School in Christchurch Road, Virginia Water, held the fair on Sunday, November 30, to raise money for the school.

Youngsters and their parents gathered to take part in festive activities, including visits to Santa's grotto, pony rides and entertainment from Egham Brass Band. Organiser Susan Smith said: "Apart from the weather the fair has done quite well and we have had good attendance, with something on offer for all of the family.

"Santa's grotto was very popular with the children, as were the hands-on activities with arts and crafts.

"The chocolate fountain also went down very well." Youngsters had the chance to buy and wrap up presents for their parents at one of the stalls.

There were numerous prizes on offer in the raffle and auction, including a Wii Fit and a holiday in Spain.

Mrs Smith added: "We are planning to use the money raised from the fair to provide a cover for the school's sand pit."
