Retailers urged to get networking
MORE retailers are being encouraged to join a business networking group.
Bracknell Business Club, which is supported by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) as part of its Keep Trade Local campaign, will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, August 16.
Organiser Richard Knight said more than 200 people have attended the meetings since they started 19 months ago but only a handful have been retailers.
He said: "We would love to get more retailers along.
"I don't know why retailers don't think of networking as being an important part of their marketing activity. At the end of the day, every single person who goes along to these events is a potential customer.
"The ones that get the biggest benefit from it are the ones who go the most.
"They need to build relationships up with people and you can only do that if you meet them regularly."
The club meets every six weeks, alternating between Tuesday and Thursday nights to try to ensure as many people as possible can attend.
On average, about 30-40 people attend each time. It is free and runs from 6-8pm as a drop-in, so people can arrive and leave at any time.
It is held at The Bull pub in Bracknell High Street.
