A YOUTH advice charity has tips for teenagers picking up their GCSE results today (Tuesday).

Vicki Jacobs, team leader of the Bracknell branch of advice charity Connexions Berkshire, which helps young people aged 13 to 19 and those with learning difficulties aged up to 25, said: "Just remember - it's not the end of the world if you do not get the grades you require. There are usually plenty of other routes to help you get to where you want to be, and we are here to help you."

Connexions' Bracknell branch, with computers for internet access, is at 3A Charles Square in the town centre. It is open 9am-5pm Mondays-Fridays but will be open to 7pm today (Tuesday) and on Thursday. Contact 0845 408 5008.

Its Wokingham branch at Anvil Court, 52 Denmark Street in the town centre, is open 12.30-5pm Mondays-Fridays usually but will be open until 7pm today (Tuesday). It will also be open from 9am-5pm from tomorrow (Wednesday) to Friday. Contact 0845 408 5014. See www.connexions-berkshire.org.uk

Young people aged 14-19 can find details of every course and training opportunity for the 2010/11 academic year at the Berkshire Online Prospectus (BOPS) website www.bops.org.uk

* Connexions can help by looking on its jobs database, giving CV tips and information on gap year organisations and charities.

* If you didn't get the grades you needed for your college or sixth form place, speak to their admissions tutor about possibly doing retakes or a different kind of course, such as a Btec or diploma.

* Consider an apprenticeship by looking for vacancies at www.apprenticeships.org.uk or at Connexions Berkshire's website www.connexions-berkshire.org.uk/jobs
