BRAINY A Level students who got their results today have achieved the highest-ever pass rate in Bracknell Forest Borough Council's schools.

The overall pass rate is 99%, up from the previous top result of 97.6%, which was reached last year.

Wokingham borough's pass rate, 98.6%, is slightly down from last year's 98.8% but it is still above the national A*-E pass rate of 97.6%. The proportion of students getting the highest grades has increased.

Dr Janette Karklins, director of children, young people and learning at Bracknell Forest Council, said: "We are delighted with the unprecedented pass rate achieved this year.

"This means that our students passed 944 A Level examinations out of the 952 they took, which demonstrates an outstanding performance.

"Well done to all of our young people. I am confident that they will go on to build on these excellent foundations in their future life and career choices."
