SUMMER fun for all the family will be on offer at the borough's leisure sites.

Activities organised by Bracknell Forest Council will include a pond safari on Thursday, July 29 plus a Paws In The Park get-together for dogs and their owners.

Cllr Iain McCracken, culture, corporate services and public protection leader, said: "Bracknell Forest is bursting with activities this summer holiday to help keep boredom at bay. What's more, many of the events are free or a minimal charge so there's no reason why summer will be credit crunched in Bracknell Forest."

A series of Wild Ones sessions will start with a free all-age pond safari in Popes Meadow, Binfield from 10am-midday on Thursday, July 29.

There will then be a free wild play swing, climb and spin session for all ages from 10am-midday on Wednesday, August 4 in Westmorland Drive, Warfield. Also, a bug hunt will be held from 2-4pm on Tuesday, August 10 at Longhill Park, Winkfield. To book places at all events, call 01344 354411.

People are welcome to bring dogs on leads to the Paws In The Park free event at Lily Hill Park, Bullbrook from 11am-4pm on Saturday, July 31 for competitions, games and information. See www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk/parks

Bracknell Leisure Centre in Bagshot Road offers mini tennis, trampolining, tweeny tumblers classes and more. See www.bracknell-forest.gov.uk/be Science and nature can be explored at the Look Out Discovery Centre in Nine Mile Ride, including at the Slime Show, at 11am, noon, 2pm and 3.15pm, subject to numbers, until September 5. There is also half-price use of Coral Reef swimming pool after 5pm on week nights for residents who received a council door-to-door leaflet.
