WALKERS are needed to put their best foot forward in support of people with dementia.

The Alzheimer's Society is looking for people to sign up for its sponsored Memory Walk and Family Fun Day on September 12.

Clare Heffill, of the Society's Bracknell and District branch, said: "Last year we had 93 walkers and raised more than £2,600. This year we want to exceed this!

"All funds raised will be used for dementia sufferers and their carers in Bracknell and District area."

The event will be at 2pm at St George's School in St George's Lane, Ascot.

There will also be refreshments, stalls, a coconut shy and a bouncy castle. The walk is a maximum of 2km with a shorter option for wheelchair users.

The branch runs a Monday and Wednesday morning drop-in advice service at The Look In Community Cafe in Broadway in Bracknell town centre, plus a twice-monthly luncheon club for carers and the people they support.

It also has plans to start a Singing For The Brain session.

Contact Bill or Clare Heffill on 01344 421292. Alternatively, register for the walk online at www.memorywalk.org.uk/bracknell
