A JUDGE has sentenced three men who robbed and stamped on a man to steal his heroin to eight years in prison.

Bracknell men James Haines, 28, Andrew Plummer, 42, and Michael Smith, 24, were found guilty by a jury of arranging to meet Jordan Chesterfield outside The Green Man pub in Crowthorne Road at 9.45pm on March 7 last year, then threatening him with a knife, attacking him and stealing £50 of heroin.

Judge Gordon Risius CB said in sentencing the trio at Reading Crown Court on Friday: "Your actions that day have had a profound effect on your victim, both physically and psychologically, and the effects of what you did to him are likely to be long-lasting and certainly permanent in the case of his missing teeth."

Judge Risius said the offence was made worse because it was pre-planned and they outnumbered their victim.

He also said that time already spent in custody would be deducted - 227 days for Smith, of Underwood, Great Hollands and 43 each for Plummer, of Moordale Avenue, Priestwood and Haines, of Lochinver, Birch Hill.
