A RESOLUTION to start the New Year with a new look has given a smile to a News senior sales executive.

In a bid to keep up her no smoking resolution, Katie Wills decided that to help her avoid cigarettes, she would get her teeth whitened at Crown Wood Dental Practice in Crown Wood.

After a month of treatment, Katie, 35, from Bracknell, said: "I am absolutely chuffed to bits. I feel that it's given me huge amounts of confidence. I feel like I smile so much more than I did before."

Katie had a mould made of her teeth and was given a whitening gel to put in it to wear at night to prepare the teeth.

She was also told to avoid coffee and red wine and anything that would stain her teeth such as beetroot.

Then a month later she went back to the practice in Crown Row again for laser whitening and intensive whitening sessions where a UV light was shone at her teeth to work with a gel put onto them.

Dr Chi Wong, the principal dentist at the practice who carried out the treatment, said: "It is very simple, easy and effective. A lot of people have whitening for different reasons, some to help them get a job, others to help with New Year's resolutions, some because they are getting married or others just to feel more confident."

The practice offers different treatment options then recommends follow-up sessions to keep the teeth white.

Katie completed her new look with a facial treatment to reduce frown lines, done with tiny pin prick injections of an anti-wrinkle treatment.

Dr Aman Ruprah, who did the treatment, said: "It brings a more youthful appearance."

And Katie has still not smoked - having given up in December.

The practice, established in 1987, offers a range of dental treatments, cosmetic dentistry and facial rejuvenation.

Tooth whitening usually costs £385 but is currently on offer at £190 and facial rejuvenation starts at £180 with a free consultation.
