Following the announcement that an old pub near Burnham Beeches is to close in the new year, rumours have been circulating as to what it will become.

The Jolly Woodman, situated on Littleworth Road announced its forthcoming closure on Sunday, November 26.

Breaking the news on Facebook the owners said: "It is with the deepest sadness that I have to inform you that the Jolly Woodman will close its doors for the last time as a public house on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

"Our landlords Global Taverns (who have been incredibly supportive to date) have decided to sell the freehold and the new owners have no intention of operating the Jolly Woodman as a public house."

Buckinghamshire Council said that there are not currently any planning applications for the site.

A spokesperson added: "If an application is received, it will be subject to the normal publicity and public consultation."

The Jolly Woodman is not currently listed as an asset of community value and the building does not appear in Historic England's database of listed buildings.
