A MAN has been jailed for drug offences in Reading following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.

Jonathan Leacock, aged 34 of Cheapside, Reading, was convicted on Thursday (13/9) at Reading Crown Court of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, namely crack cocaine and possession with intent to supply a Class A drug, namely heroin.

Leacock was charged on March 29 this year following a drug warrant being carried out in Cheapside, Reading at around 6.30pm on March 28 this year.

He was in the flat at the time of the warrant and was arrested, a significant amount of heroin and crack cocaine was seized.

Leacock pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years and ten months’ imprisonment.

Investigating officer, police constable Nicola Henderson of the Stronghold Team based at Reading police station, said: “The illegal supply of drugs in Reading is a priority for Thames Valley Police.

“It causes significant issues which affect the local community.

“This is part of our ongoing Stronghold campaign which aims to work in partnership to tackle serious and organised crime.

“Thames Valley Police works tirelessly to prevent drug dealing, investigate reports and prosecute those found to be involved and protect the most vulnerable in our community.

“Drug dealing will not be tolerated.
