Mystery still surrounds the discovery of a woman’s body in Camberley on Tuesday morning.

Police were called around 11.15am following the discovery of a body in a wooded area behind St Michael’s Churchyard in London Road.

The area, which is owned by the Ministry of Defence but is not within the grounds of the Sandhurst Military Academy, is sometimes used by rough sleepers. The woman’s body was discovered near a tent.

The death is still being treated as unexplained at this time. A post-mortem is due to take place today.

Detective Sergeant Nicky Gardner, who is investigating the incident, said: “We are still trying to establish the circumstances of the death and are keeping an open mind at this stage.

“The body was found near a blue tent which we believe was put up at least six months ago. We would like to hear from anyone who has any more information about the tent, or any other information which could assist our enquiries.”
